Hotel Rates in Florida Drop This Summer

AAA said that more than 60 % of summer travelers are traveling closer to home this summer. With gas prices soaring high, travelers are opting for a cheap vacation and South Florida offers a variety of options.

Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, a luxury resort in South Florida and Miami’s only AAA Five Diamond resort, charges their rooms this summer for only $269 a night. “The summer is one of the best times to visit a luxury resort like the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne because you’re going to have values you don’t get any other time of the year,” said Michelle Payer of the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. During winter, the hotel’s room rates are up to $600 per night.

The summer package includes luxury accommodations in a Ritz-Carlton room, a full breakfast buffet for two, free valet parking and a gift from the hotel when you check in. A night at the Ritz-Carlton feels like you’re on a tropical island with one of “America’s Best Beaches” right outside your window.

Located on pristine Vanderbilt Beach, on the other side of Alligator Alley is another luxury resort where prices drop as the temperatures rise. The La Playa Beach and Golf Resort in Naples offers summer rates for only about $170 per night. Resort facilities includes a restaurant, bar, pool bar, 4 outdoor pools, golf course, spa, water sports equipment rental (para sailing, kayaking, paddle boats, jet skis), concierge and room service.

The South Seas Island Resort, a breathtaking Captiva Island resort, has also low room rates this summer, only $135 per night. For a local South Florida vacation, you can check out the Grove Isle Hotel and Spa in an island in Coconut Grove, some rooms are 25% less during summer.
