Tourism Grants from Visit Florida
VISIT FLORIDA is Florida’s official source for travel planning, it markets Florida tourism worldwide, directing advertising, sales, promotions, public relations and visitor services programs both domestically and internationally. It will award a total of nearly $150,000 in Advertising Matching Grants, Minority Convention Grants and Cultural Heritage and Nature Tourism Grants to 41 tourism promotion organizations across the state.
The awards include 17 Advertising Matching Grants, totaling $39,800. Recently they have awarded a Cultural Heritage and Nature Tourism Grant to Florida’s Freshwater Frontier. Florida’s Freshwater Frontier supports regional tourism through advertising, promotions, public relations, new product development and visitor services programs.
Kerri Post, vice president of New Product Development for VISIT FLORIDA said, “The purpose of these grants is to help non-profit entities and local governments stretch their tourism marketing dollars in an effort to expand cultural heritage and nature tourism activities in Florida.”
Michelle Phillips, tourism coordinator for Florida’s Freshwater Frontier said they were pleased to receive the award among the many applicants. The $5,000 grant will fund the the revision and reprint of their Heritage & Cultural Travel Guide and help them in advertising Florida’s Freshwater Frontier as a desirable destination.
